Pursuing his career interest in the treatment of foot-related ailments, he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine through the four-year program at the Podiatric Medical School in Iowa. His medical training also includes performing approximately 500 surgeries during a foot and ankle surgery residency in Reno, Nevada.
